The detonation team refers to all Brooks Dynamite Academy daycare employees. This staff group is responsible for implementation of programming and the direct care and attention given to children in the programs. The detonation team has various levels of training and experience, and have ample support from the bomb squad.
Detonation team may also consist of support staff such as the cook.

All early childhood educators’ hold a minimum of a Level One ECE Certificate, an up to date Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, and First Aid & CPR certificate.
​
Most educators hold additional credentials including ECE level 2 & 3 certificates obtained through completing ELCC Certificates and Diplomas or other equivalent education.

Allison Donaldson
Executive Director, Owner, Level 3
Ms. Allison opened BDA in September 2016.
​
As our Program Executive Director, Allison works on much of the program development including staffing, training, communications with families, marketing and more from behind the scenes for our business development. In later 2023, Allison role has shifted to limit daily operations to be primarily business development. Allison will continue to support our Leadership Team, and as our interim Financial Coordinator.

Allison was nominated for Business Professional of the year, and the Employee of the year in 2022 from the Brooks Chamber of Commerce.
​
Allison has completed her ELCC Diploma with Honors at Portage College and Red Deer Polytechnic for ELCC Leadership Post Diploma Certificate also with Honours. Allison has completed a certificate in Supporting Community Practices and Leading through a Pedagogical Lense through ARCQE. Allison is currently working on her Bachelors of Professional Arts in Human Services at Athabasca University.

Allison is moving back into a cheerleading position with Deep Blue Athletics as a coach and program coordinator for OSC and program events .
Allison is the past Vice-Chair of the Brooks & County of Newell Early Childhood Development Coalition, as well as the Past President and Secretary of the Alberta Cheerleading Association.

Some of Allisons previous experience includes coaching cheerleading from 2011-2018, honoured as a Mentor with FCSS in 2013, and as an Honourable Mention for Jr. Citizen in Brooks.

Ms.Laura
Program Coordinator, Level 3
Ms. Laura joined BDA in November 2020. Laura has worked as an educator with several of our age groups and spent years gaining experience as an ECE. Within the classroom, Laura was observed enjoying the messiest activities and always exploring her kiddo’s interests.

Laura grew up in Brazil, moving to Alberta in 2015. Laura lives in Brooks with her husband and two dogs.
Laura is passionate about learning and furthering her education. Laura has completed her Early Childhood Diploma with Honours through Lakeland College. She also is finishing her Bachelors of Developmental Psychology through Athabasca University. Laura has chosen to also pursue a minor in Women and Gender Studies to better understand and support the needs of BDA’s mothers and our largely female educators.
Laura has completed the Grant MacEwan Flight Course (Exploring Early Childhood Curriculum). She has also completed her Brain Story Certification, Leading Through a Pedagogical Lens, and Reaching In, Reaching Out ECE certificates. She is currently working on her Supporting Curriculum Practice certificate through ARCQE.
Within BDA, Laura is a Program Coordinator. She is in charge of Program Quality by acting as a lead to the Age Group Coordinators, Educators, and Assistant Program Coordinator. Laura develops fun initiatives and projects for the children! Laura also works with ARQCE on maintaining BDA an inclusive and diverse environment for children and staff. On her spare time, Laura is also part of the Youth Advisory Council of Ever Active Schools in Alberta, helping meet children’s gross motor needs throughout the province and advocating for Early Childhood Educators.

Ms.Michelle
Assistant Program Coordinator, Level 2
Ms. Michelle joined BDA in January 2022 and worked primarily with our toddlers, gaining experience as an ECE. She eventually made her way to a Toddler Coordinator, providing leadership and guidance to our Toddler age groups.
Michelle grew up in Lethbridge, and currently lives in Duchess with her two children, one dog, and three cats! Michelle has a passion for watching the children grow and learning with them everyday. Michelle first began as a parent at BDA with her youngest child being apart of our preschool program!
Michelle has completed the Reaching In, Reaching Out trauma-informed training through ARQCE as well as the Brain Story course. She is currently enrolled in her ELCC Diploma to further her education in ECE and learn more about Child Development!
Michelle currently works as the Assistant Program Coordinator, acting as a lead and ECE mentor to our educators and age group coordinators and on many daily operational tasks. Michelle is also our Health and Safety Representative. Michelles many talents allows her role to continue to develop and vitally support both our locations!

Ms.Leiza
Infant Coordinator, Level 3
Leiza joined BDA in August 2018.

Leiza and her husband live together in Brooks with their son, two dogs, and their cat. Leiza was born in Brooks and raised in Brooks/Tilley area. In her personal time, she enjoys going boating and camping!

Leiza has a Teaching Assistant Certificate, three years towards a Bachelor of Elementary Education and her Early Childhood Diploma. Leiza has completed the Grant MacEwan Flight Course (Exploring Early Childhood Curriculum). She has also completed her Brain Story Certification.
Leiza has spent most of her time at BDA working with infants/ toddlers but has also spent time with the preschoolers. In the classroom, Ms. Leiza’s favourite activities are arts and crafts!

Ms.Jashan
Infant Coordinator, Level 3
Ms. Jashanpreet joined BDA in December 2023.

Jas was born and raised in India, moving to Canada in 2021. She now lives in Brooks with her friend. In her personal time, she enjoys playing volleyball!

Ms. Jas has a Early Childhood Diploma from Canadore College. Jas is also completing the Grant MacEwan Flight Course (Exploring Early Childhood Curriculum) and getting her Brain Story Certification.
Ms. Jas has spent most of her early childhood career working with Infants and Toddlers, and is now also exploring the Preschool age group. In the classroom, Ms. Jas’s favourite activities are sensory and physical!

A special note: My favourite part about being an educator is getting to teach, explore, and bring happiness to children’s days to allow for them to reach developmental goals while having fun.

Ms.Ally
Educator, Level 3
Ms. Ally joined BDA in March 2022. Ally is Certified as a Level 3 ECE.
Ally grew up in Ontario where she lived until 2022. She moved to Alberta in February of 2022 and now lives in Duchess with her Husband Cody, daughter Evelyn, and their dog Mocha.
In the classroom, Ms. Ally enjoys being active with the children and spending time outside! Ally enjoys talking with the parents get to know not only their children but their families as well.
Ally completed two years of Early Childhood Education at Fanshawe College where she earned her diploma. Ally has completed the Grant MacEwan Flight Course (Exploring Early Childhood Curriculum). Ally has also completed her Brain Story Certification.
A special note: One thing I love most about being an educator is how each day is different, there is always something new to learn for not only the children but also for me!

Ms. Autumn
Rural Development Coordinator, Level 3
Ms. Autumn joined BDA in September 2021. Ms. Autumn worked primarily with infants and toddlers before stepping into a leadership role overseeing the quality of programming in Bassano in late 2023. Ms. Autumn is also the primary contact for parents and families for that location.
Autumn grew up in Brooks and has a passion for music and drama. Autumn is a very creative person. She also enjoys getting messy with the kids during activities, especially with art!
Autumn completed a year and a half towards a Bachelor’s of Education in fine arts at the University of Lethbridge before moving onto her Early Learning & Childcare Diploma.
Autumn has completed Possibilities of Practice with ARCQE - A study of Flight and Leading Through a Pedagogical Lens.
A special note: My favourite part about being an educator is how rewarding working with children can be and how much they make you smile.
As the Rural Development Coordinator, Autumn will work with our programs classroom educators and leadership team to enhance practices and ensure quality operations are taking place. Autumn will also support maintaining ELCC Licensing.

Ms.Annette
Best Cook Ever
Annette joined BDA in the fall of 2018.
Annette is from Nova Scotia and moved to Brooks with her husband 10 years ago. Annette has 2 children. She recently became a Grandma for the third time! Her grandchildren are the joy of her life! Annette loves to cook and has worked in many kitchen’s throughout her life.
When she is not at work cooking up a storm, she is at home sewing or watching her favourite shows!

Annette is a liaison between our educators, assists educators as needed and ensures a variety of sanitary practices are upheld.

Ms. Heather
Program Owner
As the preschool educator for many years, Ms. Heather is able to support the team in a variety of areas including classroom set up and curriculum planning. Ms. Heathers current role in working remotely and on site as needed to support the team and programs continued growth.
